We have 3 types of Dishcloth Holders:
- Dishcloth Holder Flex,
- Dishcloth Holder Steel
- Dishcloth Holder Alu
Dishcloth holder Flex and Steel come in 2 versions: one with ordinary counter magnets intended for steel sinks and one with extra strong magnets intended for thicker composite sinks (i.e. granite, Corian etc.).
The Sponge Holder is also available for both steel sinks and composite sinks.
Steel Sinks
For ordinary steel sinks, you can use our classic dishcloth holders which is available both in stainless steel (Dishcloth Holder Steel) and one in flexible PE (Dishcloth Holder Flex) that can be bent to fit the shape of your sink.
Composite Material Sinks
If your sink is made of composite material such as granite, Silgranit, Corian or similar blending materials, you will need a holder with extra strong magnets. Dishcloth Holder Alu is designed specifically for composite sinks with extra strong magnets. Dishcloth Holder Flex and -Steel can also be used for composite sinks - simply remember to choose "special" under sink type and you will get your Dishcloth Holder with extra strong magnets.
N.B. We have learned that some composite sinks are thicker than usual and that our strongest magnets are not powerful enough to be used on them.
We have specifically learned that composite sinks buy after 2020 and from the manufacturer “Franke” or "Blanco" are very thick, and we recommend that you either:
- purchase an additional set of counter magnets for "special sinks" and place them on top of each other on the back of the sink.
- purchase silicone plates and place them directly in your sink.
Round Sinks/Small Sinks
We have designed Dishcloth Holder Flex specifically for round and small sinks. You can bend the Dishcloth Holder Flex with your hands to fit the shape of the sink and it can even fit in the corner on a regular square sink.
Does not work on Porcelain & Ceramic Sinks
Unfortunately, ceramic porcelain sinks are very thick, and unfortunately our magnets are not powerful enough use on this type of sink. As an alternative, we recommend using our Dishtowel Holder, which can be put in the sink with the white adhesive metal plates. You can place the holder directly on top of the metal plates.
There are a few white sinks from IKEA that the special version can be used on.
The counter magnets for our products are small but strong, and they can sometimes grab onto a screw or something else under the sink.
They are designed with a tail shape, making it easier to grab, even if you can't see them. If you have lost a counter magnet, you can always order a new one on our website.
Remember for next time, that the tail is intended for you to fasten it with the included stickers, so you are sure they will stay in place - even when you take your holder on and off your sink.
Some sinks have a very rough back surface where the sticker can be difficult to fasten onto the surface. In that case, we recommend using good old-fashioned duct tape or some other type of heavy-duty adhesive.
The products are designed to be used in a sink and are therefore made of stainless steel or PE plastic which doesn’t rust.
Magnets are not stainless and are therefore covered with a protective layer. Be aware that the protective layer may become detached if you put it in the dishwasher and thus cause the magnet to rust.
The products are designed for use in the sink and the magnets are protected with a plastic wrap so that it does’t scratch your sink. You can safely use the products without making marks in your sink.
No, magnets are not rust-free and are therefore made with a protective layer over them. They should not be washed in the dishwasher, as it may cause the protective layer on the magnet to loosen and the magnets to rust.
Our metal plates come with strong adhesive that can be used on all types of surfaces.
It is important that the surface on which you want to apply it, is completely clean and dry before sticking the metal plates onto it. Be sure to thoroughly clean the surface and wait a few hours for the surface to dry completely before placing the adhesive metal plates. You can always order new ones on our website.
